BDS and CILIP Offer Free Conference Place
BDS has been invited to partner with CILIP to sponsor a bursary place* at the CILIP 2017 Conference in Manchester on 5-6 July 2017. This is a great opportunity for professional development, particularly for those who would otherwise find it difficult to attend the conference.
A highlight of the programme this year has to be the keynote address by Dr Carla Hayden, recently appointed Librarian of Congress.
Clearly this is a chance to network with both new and existing contacts, but you will also meet the BDS representatives who are attending the event, be able to attend papers given by leading industry experts and participate in workshops.
The bursary place includes access to both days of the conference, lunch, refreshment and all sessions.
All we ask of you is that you agree to appear in an article in the next issue of BDSLife for Libraries, (see www.bdslive.com/data/bds-life) and that you are active on social media prior to and during the event to promote the conference and record what is happening.
If you would like to be a part of the biggest event of the year for library professionals, simply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The draw to select the winner will take place on 21 April 2017, and all entrants will be informed on that day if they have been successful or not.
“BDS is delighted to team up with CILIP to offer this bursary place which we hope will prove of value to someone who wishes to develop their professional experience,” says Lesley Whyte, Managing Director at BDS. “I look forward to meeting the successful candidate at the conference.”

Please note that the early bird discount for places at the conference ends on 28 April.
*The bursary is for conference attendance only, and does not include travel or accommodation.
